a busy week at Melb Uni..!

NEW T-SHIRTS meant that M4S Team UNIMELB were ready to smash out an awesome week of promotions!

Armed with a big stack of issues of The Economist and mountains of
posters we were determined to spread the word as far as possible around campus.

We decided to approach students studying in the student lounges and have a quiet talk to them about M4S and give them a magazine to ponder over. This proved very successful in the commerce building - many students were thrilled to receive a free issue of the economist with shouts like, "this is awesome!" and "man, I LOVE this magazine". Friends of these students were straight away intrigued and wanted to know more... success!
This week we also handed out heaps of blue folders at lunchtime on South Lawn and found people loved them. After going around to a couple of groups to give them folders and brochures we found people were coming straight up to us asking for them - we didn't realise how popular these folders would be and are already planning to return with many more next week to hand them out to the masses!

Although we have come across a couple of bureaucratic hurdles involving campus staff being wary of our campaign, we have found students pretty interested in hearing more about Magazines 4 Students and what we can offer them.

We have definitely found the most effective ways to promote M4S on campus are approaching students as students ourselves, and of course putting the message out there on as many walls as we can in order to create as much awareness around M4S as possible!

POSTERING this week has been a huge project for M4S Team Unimelb and we went all out this week!! We targeted all of the student boards, free publicity boards and advertising columns all over campus. It was UPW2 and this time we were prepared for the fight. I felt a great sense of pride returning to uni the next day to see that our posters had survived the long night.

Determined to make even more of a statement this week, we started chalking around campus, leaving our mark in areas where students would walk through and take the time to read our messages.
This was super effective and we saw lots of students having a look at our chalk creations as they made their way too class.

And then all of our hours were up for the week...! Next week we hope to make some lecture announcements, tackle the whiteboards and approach even more students... stay tuned for the shenanigans we get up to at Melb Uni!
