Since our university likes to start later than everywhere else, Ara and I have only just finished our first week of uni! Despite ups and downs in the weather, we had a great time going around uni, postering and flyering all over the place. We focused on spreading the general M4S message this week, and targeted the Australian Financial Review posters to kick off the semester.
Sydney University is a large campus with buildings sprawled all over the place. There are two sides- the Darlington side which has the Law Building, The Main Quad and the Carslaw Building, and the Camperdown side which has the Wentworth Building, JFR and the Merewether Building (home to the Economics and Business Faculty). On Monday we pretty much swamped all the noticeboards in every building with posters and flyers. The noticeboards at Sydney Uni are so old that postering requires a lot of effort – you have to push in the pins through stacks and stacks of old posters. It was great exercise! We also went around to different Faculty offices, where we were able to leave a heap of flyers right near the notices (which is great because students always pick up information here). The most exciting part was seeing students walk up to our posters and ripping off the little tabs!
On Thursday we continued our quest by walking around and talking to students personally about M4S and what it does. We also finished all of our AFR posters and put out heaps of brochure holders around the place.
Astha and Ara :)
