As any
student at Macquarie University may have noticed this week, an invasion has
begun: the Steve Jobs invasion.
Yes you
guessed correctly, for our week 2 campaign we chose to do Time Magazine with
Steve Jobs’ face on the front cover, thus enveloping Macquarie Universities
notice boards, whiteboards, buildings and pillars with the face of the renowned
billionaire.
We learned
from last week where our most popular spots were for pamphlet and poster tag
distribution, which were on the student pillar outside the old library,
noticeboards around the central courtyard and outside the Mason Theatre of E7B.
The blue folders, however, proved to be the most popular!
Unfortunately,
the student noticeboards of Macquarie have a reputation of being too ‘up to
date’ i.e. if you post something on a board in the morning, it’s sure to be
covered up by the afternoon. Therefore we’ve gotten into the habit of having to
revisit the noticeboards the next day only to find our posters buried
underneath. But as is in real life, with far more resources at his disposal and
wider product distribution, Jobs was able to seize the wall back the next day.
As those of
you who are working across the Sydney campuses may have noticed, Sydney has
become drenched in rain. Most of the fabulous chalking that the Macquarie team
has placed all around the main walkways of the campus has been washed away! So our second team has resorted to
whiteboarding as many rooms as possible. Lets just hope the tutors don’t clear
it all away!
Hope you’re all going well on your campaign! J
Adam
