Week 3 @ La Trobe Bundoora

Hi everyone!

This week we were really excited as we had finally organised a stall in the Agora- the central point, where all the shops are located and where everything is 'happening'. However, before Wednesday (stall day) we faced some obstacles in our path. There was a slight confusion with the price that came with having the stall, one well out of our kitty money, leaving us with no other choice but to cancel the stall :(

After much disappointment, and little time to organise something else with as much exposure, we followed up a hopeful 'business club' and met them at their first meeting for the year. Their club we found out, is new and from what we could tell we don't think they have a very big member base yet :(. They were however happy to add us to their webpage in their partners section with a donation in return. As to where we go with our partnership with them, we are not too sure yet.

We spent some of our time putting up TIME Magazine posters around Uni, which we think were the most striking as of yet! They seem to really catch the eye! Whilst doing this, we also put up brochure holders and refilled our existing brochure holders and other areas where we had distributed brochures i.e. in front of faculties and in permanent fixtures!

After an awaited approval for chalking, we spent our time chalking walkways, the bus stops in our University and other paved areas! We think our artwork came out very effective and it was really rewarding hearing people walking by reading out loud and to their friends ''What's this? Magazines4Students.com.au!'' :) Even though we couldn't get the stall up and running and least the name was getting around somehow- along with the peer-to-peer marketing we also began that day!

We spent some time talking to students and telling them about Magazines4Students but we felt we needed the stall for students to approach us! We were ready to start taking entrants photos for our 'cover competition' whereby students can win vouchers for various magazines however didn't have the right people interested. We have started on our Facebook page and created handouts to those entering the competition.

Our aim for next week is to get our competition up and running and also to hang our lanterns in the trees that will hopefully bring us more attention!

All the best,
Lauren and Trikkelle!
