Team M4S at UQ kicked off on Monday with heaps of energy! We had the goals of postering and putting up brochure holders in as many places as we could as well as creating a general buzz for the brand on campus.
On Monday most of our Australian Financial Review posters being plastered on any noticeboard and empty space that we were granted permission to poster upon. Brochure holders were also strategically positioned around campus to catch the eyes of the UQ student body. Some of our giveaway folders were dropped off at the Business, Economics and Law faculty (in addition to a few more) to spread the news of awesome M4S bargains to academic faculty and staff as well.
On Tuesday we became slightly more daring with our postering and spread to some areas that see heavy pedestrian traffic. However, it appeared that many other causes had also caught wind of these prime positions and would not hesitate to poster over anything in their line of vision! Not to mention that security tends to remove posters from these areas to prevent a mass collection of poster war casualties (may they rest in peace). So next week we will be sure to position our posters a little more strategically to prevent any more premature deaths.
The posters lost due to the war over prime positions did not die in vain; however, with many students actually approaching and asking about what the posters and brochures were about in genuine interest! This was definitely the week’s highlight and filled the UQ team with a nice warm, fuzzy feeling inside J
Inspired by the interest of students in the brand (and all of the tags that had been taken from the bottom of posters) it was decided that give-away folders and brochures would be handed out to students during a lunch break later in the week. Although the reception on this day wasn’t as great, we’re hoping to elicit a bit more enthusiasm by giving away some lollies in conjunction to the brochures next week.
Keep an eye out for some whiteboarding and chalking news as well as a brand spanking new facebook page from team UQ in the next week!
